Job Description:
As an IT and Tech Support Specialist at Desi Pakwan, you will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting our technology infrastructure to ensure uninterrupted operations. Your main responsibilities will include:
- Providing technical support to restaurant staff for hardware, software, and network-related issues.
- Troubleshooting and resolving IT problems promptly to minimize downtime and maintain efficiency.
- Installing, configuring, and maintaining computer systems, printers, POS systems, and other hardware devices.
- Managing software installations, updates, and patches on workstations and servers.
- Assisting in the setup and maintenance of our local area network (LAN), Wi-Fi, and internet connections.
- Conducting regular backups of critical data and ensuring data security and privacy.
- Assisting in the selection and procurement of new hardware and software as needed.
- Maintaining an inventory of IT equipment and managing the disposal of outdated or damaged devices.
- Documenting IT procedures, troubleshooting guides, and system configurations for future reference.
- Staying updated on emerging technologies and providing recommendations for system improvements.
Requirements:
To be considered for the IT and Tech Support Specialist position, you should meet the following requirements:
- Proven experience as an IT Support Specialist or in a similar role, preferably in a restaurant or hospitality environment.
- Strong knowledge of computer hardware, software, networking, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Familiarity with restaurant-specific technologies such as POS systems, reservation software, and kitchen management systems is an advantage.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills to diagnose and resolve technical issues effectively.
- Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical staff in a clear and understandable manner.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and prioritize accordingly.
- Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices.
- Flexibility to work outside regular business hours for system maintenance and emergencies.
- Diploma or degree in information technology or a related field is preferred.
- Relevant certifications, such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA), or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), are a plus.
